One People, One Future “
Working with people from around the world
What keeps feeding my inspiration since early age is the sense of unity and recognition that we live in a world that, in spite of its physical boundaries, shares a common faith. The most inspiring and memorable moments that have kept my purpose fuelled all these years have been opportunities to work with people from around the world first as student at the United Nations headquarters during my college years, and most recently as a participant and scholarship recipient at the UN Summer Academy.
If we are as strong as our weakest member of society, then we still have a lot of work to do. My experience in Afghanistan was a watershed event that would change for good my perception of the world and the values we place on life and our engagement in the international community. Even as I continue my work in other parts of the world, images, stories and Afghan people continue to be at the forefront of my work. We must continue to protect and strengthen the lives of women and children in our societies, as their wellbeing and opportunity to prosper define our humanity.
Being a member of the Rotary International community is a privilege that has given me the opportunity to take my desire to help the world community to another level. As the Inter-Country Committee (ICC) national coordinator for Rotary District 1913 (Croatia), I am honored to lead a team of dedicated Rotarians who promote understanding, cooperation and friendship between countries and create opportunities to realize intercountry projects to make a difference in the world. “Be the change you want to see in the world” Mahatma Ghandi.
